CBP Updates ACE Portal to Allow
Account Merger Requests

November 5, 2026

On November 5, 2026, U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) announced an update to the Automated Commercial Environment (ACE) Secure Data Portal account application, allowing companies to request the merger of two or more ACE Portal accounts under a single top account.

Under the updated process, the account owner of the acquiring entity’s ACE Portal account may submit a merger request through CBP’s automated ACE Portal application.

The request must include a letter on company letterhead, signed by an authorized company official, containing the following information:

  • The company names and applicable ACE Portal account identifiers for both the acquiring entity and the acquired entity or entities;
  • The date of the subsidiary acquisition; and
  • Current contact information, including a telephone number and email address.

Companies may also submit additional supporting documentation, such as bond information, as applicable.

This update provides companies with a streamlined process for consolidating their ACE Portal accounts. For additional information, please see CBP CSMS #70362316 and CBP’s Managing an ACE Portal Account webpage.
