CBP Releases Operational Guidance for
Uyghur Forced Labor Prevention Act (UFLPA)

In CSMS #52167923, dated June 13, 2022, CBP announced that the importer guide to assist the import community in complying with the Uyghur Forced Labor Prevention Act (UFPLA) is now available.

The short (less than 20 pages) guide provides information on how CBP will be ensuring that importers are in compliance with the UFLPA. Covered topics include:

  • Enforcement of the UFLPA,
  • Requesting an exemption to the rebuttal presumption,
  • Resources for supply chain due diligence, and
  • Information that CBP may require.
