Webinar: How To Conduct Your Own Customs Compliance Risk Assessment

Date: June 20, 2012
Time: 10:00 AM to 12:00 AM Pacific Daylight Time

Compliance with today’s import requirements can be complex and confusing. Customs and other regulatory agencies expect importers, regardless of size, to be knowledgeable about their legal responsibilities and to implement controls to ensure compliance.

If a company does not have a comprehensive understanding of its customs function, it may experience customs audits, penalties, liquidated damages, and increased overall costs due to misclassifications or undervaluation.  Companies may also be missing out on duty reduction programs and other cost-saving measures.
This webinar is intended to educate participants on how to conduct their own Customs compliance risk assessment.  Key topics will include:

  • Tariff classification
  • Valuation issues, including related party and assists
  • Trade agreements and country of origin issues
  • Duty reduction programs
  • Record-keeping
  • Internal controls and best practices
